e-mail from my dad
On Monday night, my parents arrived in ireland for their vacation. My dad sent us an e-mail and it said "Driving on the left side is cool. Once, I faced very confused Irish faces. Will always drive like that when I'm home."
Should I be worried?
The Irish Government has announced that in future all traffic is to drive on the right side of the road. From next Monday all the cars will drive on the right.
Then if that is successful, from the following Monday all the 'Buses and Lorries will drive on the right.

People tell me that they can swiitch to driving on the opposite side of the road quite easily while on holiday but when they get back home they forget and lapse into driving on the wrong side of the road.

That was my experience when I was in the UK last summer. There were a couple of slightly hairy situations when I got home... :)
I hate to admit it, but driving on the right actually feels more 'natural' somehow. When we first drive off the ferry, it feels really strange, but after a couple of days I get so used to it that going back to the left doesn't feel right at all.
