I was walking through town yesterday when I saw a BNP group standing round handing out leaflets and collecting. Staffordshire bull terriers and young men with extreme male pattern baldness abounded. I gave them by best glower and walked past them - they wisely did not try to offer me a leaflet - but when I got to the other end of the high street there were a bunch there too :(
I believe in the right to free speech and so I would not have moved them on but it grieves me that they were there.

Yeah.. but it's a shame. It's a shame too that in a town like this, I bet they do pretty well.
Idiots of that kind will gather in groups everywhere. Thankfully most of them take action to make it easier to identify them.
It's the dishonesty of it that bothers me. I could tell at a glance from the thugs that were surrounding them - and some of the thugs that were handing out leaflets - that these people were simply racists and that was it.

So it was actually disgused at campaigning for the party? You think they would have the sense to tell the most obvious thugs to stay away while doing that.
Yeah .. there were a bunch of blokes in natty black suits. I dunno why they all dress like that - it makes them look like wannabe gangsters.
Was there hair present? I find it makes them look more credible.
Some of them had some. They tend to try and put their most presentable followers out on the streets apparently which doesn't say much for the rest of the party.

My dear Lady Moose they are not just racist, they bigoted with regards to those who have disablities both physical and mental as well as religious/faith systems.
Having had a run in with them when they couldn't count high enough to be able to tell the difference between a pentacle and a hexagram (Star of David), one it was explained to them, they were changed from being abusive about my being Jewish (which I am not) to about how they were going to burn the witches and Pagans at the stake when they got into power.

I'm very surprised and saddened that they were allowed to campaign on the streets, though logically if they are a political party I guess there's not much to stop them.
Actually, maybe having really thuggish looking hangers-on with them is a good thing. It might put people off who may otherwise have been taken in by the respectable facade of the suits. People ought to see the true 'calibre' of the organisation's supporters.

They were abusing you because they thought you were Jewish? What were they saying? And what have they got against pagans?

Yeah .. you've got to wonder what the population of the country would be reduced to if they ever gained power. Probably about fifteen.
