Rotting puffins
Is it true that some nationalities like to take a puffin, bury it till it rots, dig it up and then serve it as a delicacy? (I promise I am not making that up!)

Erm...Jo? Why don't you have a little lie-down. Actually, I looked this up, and the only thing remotely like it has to do with shark in Iceland. One website said: "Hákarl is putrefied shark meat. They bury it in sand and gravel for six months, and then dig it up."

Well hey I was close! :d If they can do it with shark they can do it with puffin, right? ;)

Um...yeah. As I said, maybe it's time for a wee little nap.

Anonymous- 06-25-2005

um I suppose so but I would imagine crows would be pretty vile even unrotten so I can't imagine what they would be like after a month or two buried underground...

raspberrybullets- 06-25-2005

Somebody would want to eat that?

raspberrybullets- 06-25-2005

It's a pink muffin :D I'd much rather eat one of those.

How very true! So get your facts right, folks, we wouldn't want anyone following our preparation advice to get it wrong, now would we?! Edit: perhaps we are not googlable yet? Is the board registered with Google?

Hmmm the old one was, but I don't know if this new one would be.
