Where do Finns go for their holidays?
Here in the UK the top holiday destinations are places like Florida and I think the SOuth of France. What about in Finland.. where do people go?
Miisa- 07-12-2007
For a semi-local sun holiday:Greece, traditionally, though now they have branched out.
Further off: Thailand.
Don't the Brits all scamper off to Spain? At least I have heard it is completely overrun by Brits.

Oh Spain yeah. Well the Spanish islands. I've never fancied it to be honest. If I wanna be surrounded by drunken Brits, I'll go to the pub.

I'd never heard that you Brits come to Florida often. Interesting.

They're those shiny white things lying on the beach. :)

Lots of Brits are in Cuba

A lot of Brits come to Krakow for weekend (cheap beer!). They call it 'kraking'.
Seriously, Krakow is a charming city, and not too expensive.
On the other hand, a lot of Poles now work and live on the British islands. And most of them don't want to come back :?.

Hehe yeah Brits are either pale white or lobster red.. they're quite easy to see in Florida. Mostly they head for Disneyland.

It beats me why anyone would spend all that money and time to go to Florida. Yuck (with apologies to any Floridians present). I suppose the exchange rate helps?

Maybe they like heat, humidity, aligators, mean retirees and coral snakes? :)

And not forgetting miles of housing developments and strip malls.
Yes, there are some lovely parts of Florida, particularly on the west coast and in the Keys. But the south of France or Italy, if you're looking for somewhere warm, are infinitely nicer and much closer!

The exchange rate is very good for us Brits at the moment. I have never been to the States, although I waved from the Canadian side of Niagra.

Does anybody go to Finland to holiday?
tangent- 07-13-2007
I went to Finland in 1965 with seven of my university friends. We visited Helsinki and then travelled north through reindeer land and up to the Norwegian border at the top. It's worth a visit, especially for the lakes and Finnish architecture.
