In an attempt to do something about the state of Pippin's fur and skin, both or which are not great, I've been feeding him both some dry food called James Well Beloved and also something called Royal Canin. Both are shockingly pricy and I can't afford to feed them it every day - cos of course I have to feed them BOTH it or fights would break out - but they do seem to really enjoy it and the ingredients list is impressive (far more so than the Whiskas list of ash and a tiny percentage of bad quality meat, anyway). Anyone tried them and do they have an effect on coat condition?

Two of our Overlords get prescription Royal Canin (one is for bad bladder, the other has duck protein instead of chicken Rolling Eyes ). Seems to do them well.

I noticed they were selling pouches of Royal Canin wet food at the store today too. I did not buy any cos one 100 gramme pouch was more than twice the price of a 400 gramme tin of Tesco own wet food. The dry isn't QUITE that over priced - though still quite impressively expensive - but as they seem very fond of it I was wondering if I could wean them off wet entirely. Buying it in large bulk quantities seems to save money.

My dog eats a bag of high-end dog food a week that costs 20$. That's not so bad, considering how much it costs me per week to eat.

The presbyteral guinea pigs just eat carrotts ... and trim the grass for me sometimes ... much more cost effective.

And I suppose they can stand in as cows if required, for the purposes of the garden railway's scenery Smile

They are far too dignified for that!

The Lady Julianna Schnuffle-Piggij presents her compliments.

Unfortunately, Lady Beatrix was not available for interview.

I heard of an incident from a young parishioner only last week ... a cat got in amongst her five guinea pigs.

The cat lost. Seriously.

Haha Smile

I'd love to get one but realistically it would not be fair to it. I know what the M and P would do to it if it escaped Sad
