Put another cat on the fire ... or take your duvet into a convenient cupboard and nest there!

We've had lovely sunny weather....but the wind is blowing in from the cold, cold east, down off the mountains, through the gorge and dumping into the city, chilling each and every one of us to the bone.

That's because Canada is about as close as you can get to a classless society, with a small gap between the rich and poor.

Traditionally in the Old World, (You know. Over there. *points east*), you had to freeze if you were a peasant, because burning stuff is expensive. And if you were rich you had to freeze to show off what a gigantic, drafty castle you lived in. *nods wisely*

I'm guessing it's more obvious, why they call them stubbies, from the front?

Once again, MJK has me laughing my head off in the wee hours when I'm supposed to be Mouse quiet so as not to wake the teenager with the high temperature.

It snowed on me today, but didn't stick to the ground (thank goodness, because we don't have snow tires on yet)

Hehe, I think you'd need VERY good legs to be able to pull off wearing a stubbie...

I prefer Aussie stubbies. In Australia, a stubby is a short, squat beer bottle. Maybe also in other countries.

Yesterday, it was very sunny, but in the evening I felt extremely cold. And they say it's going to get colder.

*not sure whether to put stubbies into vocabulary list or not

Sun, there's sun, but chilly outside.

Thanks MJK, her temp is back to normal but now she has the cough.
Apparently the test for confirmation is too expensive for anyone but the most seriously ill to bother to take, so we are being told to "assume Swine Flu".
(Symptoms include high temp and coughing)

Which means that we will all have natural immunity to it by the time Christmas is here. Huzzah!

In the meantime, I think I'll go back to bed to fight off my own feeling poorliness.

(and CB, I vote NOT to add stubbies to your vocab list)
(However, Dragon found an interesting Translation book for Spanish when he went biking in Spain. Something about phrases one might need if looking for a date in Spanish. It started out with "Can I buy you a drink" and went from there right to "Not without protection")

We had snow on the ground and on the car this morning.
But it is November. Its time.
(I just wish that I knew where I packed my winter boots away to)
